I need a high school degree but it may also help my career if I had a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in the performing arts, broadcasting, film studies, or theater production.
In-state schools that offer these majors are: Central Michigan University, Wayne State University, Northern Michigan University, Lansing Community College, Grand Valley State University, University of Michigan, Calvin College, Western Michigan University, and Eastern Michigan University.
Business training is especially useful, as it can help producers develop a better understanding of project management, budgeting, and contract negotiations. It does really say how long it takes to get necessary training for this job.

9:00 am – 10:00 am Returning phone calls; sending faxes; responding to emergencies.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm Approving script; meeting with writer for revisions. 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Meeting with segment producers and directors; approving segments; giving feedback to producers. 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Working with editor; editing videotape of piece. 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Speaking with music composer; confirming deadlines, timings, and receipt of cue sheets.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Fleshing out ideas with research/story department; re-positioning focus on stories. 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Meeting with business affairs and line producer; looking over budget and cash flow for the month. 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm Going over show (what is going to be in it; the order of stories and commercials). 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Making notes for actors; preparing for next day; screening pieces; making notes; putting together promotion ideas.
That’s the day and life of Melanie. What else is there to explain? I do feel this is the right career for me because I like to work with people and handle task. I also love dealing with paperwork.
Elementary School Teacher-
Education & Training:
Must have at least a bachelor’s degree. Also must complete an approved teacher education program and a period of supervised practice teaching. Teacher education programs are offered at many 4 year colleges. Programs for kindergarten and elementary school teachers include courses in the main subject areas you’ll teach (math, physical science, social science, music, art and literature) as well as courses on philosophy of education, educational psychology, and teaching methods.
In-state colleges that offer these programs are Adrian College, Albion College, Alma College, Alpena community college, Andrews College, Aquinas College, Calvin College, central Michigan University, Ferris state, Eastern Michigan University, U of M Dearborn, U of M Flint are just some of the many in state colleges that offer these programs.

Starting Level:
I hope to be teaching little kid and working with them to improve in every area at school. Hopefully I want to be there so if they have questions, need help or just don’t understand I want to be able to see where they don’t get it. I want to be able to sit with parents and tell them about how there kid is improving and stuff.

This is the Day in The Life of Debbie:
7:30 am – 7:45 am Arrive at school. 7:45 am – 8:45 am Write assignments on blackboard; gather materials and notes needed for class; photocopy any work needed for class. 8:45 am – 9:00 am First bell; students arrive; greet them and ask them to put their coats and lunches away; receive homework; do roll call; check agendas for parent messages; listen to announcements
9:00 am – 10:15 am Teach language arts (this includes spelling tests and assignments, reading comprehension exercises, and themed written work); break students up into smaller groups for project work; supervise and visit groups as well as individual students; offer help; assign reading homework. 10:15 am – 10:30 am Recess duty: go outside and supervise children at play. 10:30 am – 12:00 pm Teach math (this includes computation facts, measurement, and graphing and pattern work). 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm Attend a staff meeting and eat lunch while discussing new curriculum, professional staff development, special needs students, discipline matters, report card deadlines, and field trips.
12:30 pm – 12:45 pm Meet with a parent of a student who has reading problems to discuss ways to help them read at home. 12:45 pm – 1:00 pm Meet with a reading clinician and a social worker to discuss the progress of a few special needs students. 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm Do roll call; teach art (this includes tints and shadows using white and black paint). 2:15 pm – 2:30 pm Recess duty: go outside and supervise children at play. 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm While students are in gym class, I photocopy; order videos; organize the classroom; and gather math puzzles for next day’s math unit.
3:00 pm – 3:45 pm Teach social studies (this includes teaching about the local community and assigning community map homework for tomorrow); prepare students for dismissal by helping them find their coats, shoes, and books. 3:45 pm – 4:45 pm Dismiss students; clean and organize classroom; grade student work completed during the day; work on lesson plans for the next day (this includes an activating exercise to introduce a topic and demonstrating a specific skill, like letter writing). 4:45 pm – 5:00 pm Leave school and drive home. 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm At home, I finish grading; work on future lesson plans; do Internet research on new topics to teach; record grades and determine which students need to improve their work; call parents of children with learning problems and share ideas. I feel these two careers will be really good careers after all the research i did on them. I like what they do and all the different colleges.
